Judah's First Beach Trip

Bryan had the day off, so we loaded up the boys and took them to the beach for a fun and relaxing day!  The water was still very cold from the winter, but the temperature out on the sand was nearly perfect!!  Jackson loved playing in the sand!  He was obsessed with digging using his shovel, but his favorite thing to do, was bulldozing the sandcastles Mommy and Daddy made!!  Judah on the other hand pretty much slept in the tent the whole time.  I can't say I blame him; a beach breeze and the sound of the crashing waves make the perfect setting for a wonderful nap!

Easter

On Saturday, we took Jackson to the neighborhood egg hunt; complete with a life-sized Easter Bunny.  He eventually caught on to how the egg hunt worked, but at first he was more concerned with the color of each egg and telling us that he sees an egg.

We took the boys out into the backyard to get some Easter pictures with their eggs...Judah was not into it whatsoever...This was the only picture with him not crying.

Jackson did okay for a few minutes and then got distracted by Boosie.  All he wanted to do was play ball with Boosie and there was no getting his focus back after that.

Discovering the Outdoors

As the weather warms and I was pregnant for the majority of last year, I have been spending a lot of time trying to get the yard back in pristine shape.  Jackson has been my little buddy outside and it is so fun to see him discover the joys of the outdoors.  He has earned his fair share of bumps and bruises and a bath most nights, but the curiosity with grass, dirt and flowers is well worth it.  He loves pointing at the planes and bees that fly overhead and we found three baby birds in a nest and a frog!!  He loves running around playing with Boosie, kicking balls and driving his bulldozer on the steps and through the flower beds.

All Smiles

Judah's new development is to smile.  More often with each day, after feeding and before his nap, he will just smile and coo at his toys or Mommy/Daddy.  It's been difficult to catch on camera as it's a quick little smile and my hands are often quite busy keeping tabs on both boys.  Jackson often hears me asking Judah to smile for Mommy and wants to participate, so he will flash this forced, tight lipped little grin in an effort to gain my attention.  Our boys are such little charmers and we just love them to pieces!

Cars

To say that Jackson loves cars would be an understatement!  He lines them up on the window sills, bathtub ledge, "races" them in the hallway or makes them CRASH!!  Cars are pretty much the only toy that he literally plays with every day.  He recently had two television experiences that have only amplified his obsession even more: NASCAR and the movie, Cars.  He will grab Daddy's truck keys and say, "bye-bye" and often asked to "go" in the car.  When we do drive in the car, he proceeds to point out every car and truck we pass.  And he gets really excited when he sees a bus, construction tractor or motorcycle!

He tries to share this passion with Judah and Boosie...neither seem to be very interested, but it doesn't stop him from trying to include either of them on a regular basis.

Judah - 1 Month

Judah made 1 month old last week and it's difficult to believe that he is already so old and getting so big!!  He likes snuggling, tummy time, eating and sleeping with Mommy!  He can hold up his head well and can already roll from his tummy to his back.  If ever I can't get him to nap, all I have to do is put him in a swaddle sling or wrap and walk around the house, and he's fast asleep within minutes.  Jackson loves his little brother, although he still struggles with sharing mommy and daddy at times.  He is great at putting Judah's paci in his mouth, shaking rattles at his face and asking Mommy to play the "sound" from the caterpillar toy.  Besides that he likes helping Mommy with Judah when it comes to nursing, diaper changes and bathing.

Jackson's Bubble Bath

Jackson has always loved taking baths, but since the discovery of bubble bath, he has been even more excited about bathtime!!  If I ask if he wants to take a bath or if I tell him he needs to take a bath, he promptly asks, "Bubble?"
