Our Sweet Boy

We took Jackson to the doctor for his 9 month checkup this week and got a great report!  He is growing like a champ and healthy in every way!  He is now 28 inches tall and weighs 20 lbs.  He also cut his two front teeth this week!  Our sweet, sweet little boy!

As Jackson gets more and more active and alert, we have to get creative in order to get things done.  For example, while Mommy gets ready in the morning, we turn the bathtub into a playpen and when Mommy has to put on her make-up, Jackson sits in the sink and "helps."  I don't think these tricks will work much longer as he becomes more and more mobile, but for now, we are making it work!

Happy First Easter

Sundays are a rough day for picture taking as Jackson is always short his morning nap.  He is far too social to sleep during church, which means that Mommy and Daddy get to deal with a less patient baby the rest of the day.  However, we did get a few shots of him in his Sunday best!  Flowers and Boosie were again some crowd favorites!!

Big Boy Food

Jackson is very decisive about what food he likes and doesn't like.  There are a few foods that he will eat only if they are prepared like a big person.  Among those are bananas, avocados, green beans and his latest, chicken.  Sometimes he wants you to feed him and sometimes he will only eat if he can feed himself.

He also LOVES juice!!  He will down an entire sippy cup of juice (mostly water) in one sitting if you let him!  He will smile real big and start kicking his feet if he even sees his sippy cup!

Lastly, here is our first attempt at posting a video!  We finally realized that Jackson copies Boosie a lot!!  We will notice that Jackson will be "barking" and I'll glance over and Boosie will be barking to go outside at the back door.  While we were on vacation, Gammie taught Jackson to sound like Boosie on command.  I wish that he didn't get camera shy, because he is so cute when he "woof" "woofs" like Boosie.  You get a little idea from this video.  The best part, is that when he hears this video being played, even if he is across the room, he starts barking every time.

Playing Around with Daddy!

Yesterday, our neighborhood had an Easter Egg Hunt for all the kids in the neighborhood.  Jackson wasn't old enough to "hunt" for the eggs, but he sure got attached to his one little blue egg.  He held it in his hand the entire hour we were out with the other kids.  Then when we got home, Daddy showed him how to clang the two pieces together to make noise and that became his new favorite game.

Jackson does really well entertaining himself with his toys, but he absolutely loves to play with people; to make silly faces, to giggle and laugh together.    His sweet baby giggle is pretty much the sweetest sound in the whole-wide world!!

9 Months Old

Jackson made 9 months old a few days ago while Bryan and I were on vacation.  When we got back home, it seemed he had grown so much taller and he had gotten better at a few more "tricks."  He is learning to give high 5's and blow kisses.  Gammie even has him telling everyone what sound Boosie makes, which is pretty much the cutest thing ever!  Boof!  Boof!  He more freely giggles and is ever moving and grabbing at everything!  Here are a few pictures in his new gear from Gammie and Papa...

Eating wood chips and pulling at the plants, who has time for pictures?

Looking just like his daddy in this handsome picture!

Jackson discovered his shadow and was fascinated!

Sweet faces for Papa!!
