Dedication

Jackson was dedicated to the Lord at church on Sunday.  He did so well and charmed the whole congregation!  He was very attentive to what Pastor Bill was saying, kept checking himself out on the big screen and even chimed in during the prayer with a few "ga-gas".  When he received his little bible, the first thing he did naturally, was to chomp on it...he's already eating up that word!!!  You go little man!!!

Big Boy Bathtub

Saturday was a beautiful day and we spent the entire day outside!!  It was wonderful!  We watched daddy win his tennis match, did several hours of yard work and went for a family bike ride.

Jackson was covered in grass, dirt and sunscreen by the end of the day and a bath was in order.  Since he's been sitting up so well and wanting to play with his toys more in the bathtub, we decided to try him without the infant bathtub.  Although, he missed getting to kick/splash the water from his reclined position, he really enjoyed his new found freedom and ability to chase his toys around the tub!  We were awarded with lots of smiles!!

So Much Personality in Such a Little Person

Jackson is a mess!! Although he often looks so serious in pictures, he is a little clown!!  He is constantly making funny faces, smiling like a goober and doing silly things that make him or us giggle!! We just love that little boy so much! Here are a few instances we were able to catch in photos:

And just for kicks, here's a picture of him holding his bottle all by himself!  (He's been doing this for  some time now)

Washington DC, Day 3

After two days of walking miles upon miles, Jackson hardly sleeping for naps or at night, and our general over stimulation from museum after museum, we made a unanimous decision to stay clear of the city on our last day.  We already knew that we had plenty enough to see to come back for a second visit, so we opted for a day of game playing and casual sightseeing in the local hot spot of Annapolis.  We spent the morning learning two new games that Josh brought while Jackson got two solid naps in.  Then we spend the afternoon enjoying local seafood, sailing and beautiful weather around Annapolis.  We finished up our trip we a tour through Josh's old stomping ground and a dinner with some of his friends.

Washington DC, Day 2

We started off our second day with an early brunch with Mommy's good friend, Laura, just off Capitol Hill!!  She had never met Jackson and we had a lovely time together with great fellowship and yummy food!  Then we headed a few blocks over to the National Air and Space Museum to meet up with Daddy's good friend, Lindsey.  She had also never met Jackson and we had a great time catching up and reminiscing about old times together.  This will be a really fun place to go back to with Jackson one day...all the airplanes and spacesuits!!

US Capitol

Jackson also got some quality time with Uncle Joshie and he quite enjoyed the view from being carried around.  Uncle Josh didn't mind hauling the 20 pound little man around as we walked from monument to monument!  Jackson found Josh's collar and zipper particularly fun to chew on as he tested out the strength and might of his two little teeth!!

Jackson was a trooper.  He had few and short naps throughout the day and stayed up well past his bedtime for the second night in a row.  By the end of dinner, he was on the verge of a complete meltdown.  I think he was fast asleep before we even left the parking garage!

Washington DC, Day 1

Uncle Joshie was back on the East Coast for a work conference this past weekend and the three of us were able to head up to the DC area for a visit.  Although Jackson is too little to really appreciate the sights, he sure loved having all the extra attention from family, friends and random strangers!!

We were on our own for the first day and it was cold, so we spent the majority of the day in museums.  We visited the National Gallery of Art, Modern Art Museum, Sculpture Garden, Holocaust Museum, and finished with the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial.  Jackson got lots of quality stroller time and made friends with all the museum docents.  I think he made each of their days!  He even was declared a future artist by a local who was painting in the one of the galleries.

Around mid-day we stopped for a local lunch of lobster and crab rolls.  Jackson would have gladly partook of such yummy seafood, but he had to settle for one of his own favorites, peas!

You can't see Jackson in this picture as he has fallen fast asleep in his stroller as the long day wore on and yet we were still out and about even though it was his bedtime.
