Jackson's First Thanksgiving

Gammie and Papa came for a visit and to celebrate Jackson's first Thanksgiving!!  What a treat!  Jackson has been soaking up all the extra love, attention, cuddles, kisses and overall good times that happen with family!

Wearing daddy's old shirt and shoes!  What a stud!

Jackson was so curious about all the Thanksgiving food! Yum! Yum! Scrum-dum!

A Collection of Everyday Life

Last week we went to the doctor for Jackson's 4 month check-up and booster shots.  Jackson did great and showed the doctor how strong he is!  He now weighs almost 16 pounds and is 25 inches long, putting him in the 50th percentile in every category.  His sleep patterns change every few weeks, but he is currently waking about twice each night to feed.  The doctor said we can start weening him off his nighttime feeds and getting him to sleep through the night.  We also can start introducing him to food at the first sign that he isn't getting enough from breastmilk...however, he's yet to show any signs of missing calories from meals.  Oh that "JUICY" little boy!!

Jackson experienced his first election experience when he went with Mommy and Daddy to vote!  Go America!!

He's becoming so much more independent and interactive during playtime.

We are trying to discourage the thumb sucking, but he sure does love chopping on fingers!

Jackson got to go to Daddy's work for a Thanksgiving party and meet the giant elephant!  Makes him look so little!

4th Months Old

Jackson is now 4 months old!  We think he weighs just over 14 lbs, but we will know for sure when he goes to the doctor for his 4 month checkup.  He is changing so fast and is showing much more of his big personality in a little body.  He can seem so serious and intense at times, but really he's such a little clown!

Here are a few of the things Jackson likes to do:
           *to stand up
*to watch Boosie and on occasion pet Boosie
*to play with his Giraffe, Jerry
*to chew on our fingers, shoulder, clothes, his toys,
his car seat...well, pretty much anything
           *to suck his thumb
           *to kick his legs
           *to get kisses
*to squeal real loud and coo
           *to go on walks/be outside
           *to snuggle and rock

Meeting all the "Greats"

Jackson has now officially met all of his great-grandparents!  Last week we were able to make our first trip back to Baton Rouge to visit Bryan's family.  It was such a quick trip but now we have some very sweet memories with family and friends!!

Mawmaw and Pawpaw were able to come out and meet Jackson when he was first born!  It was so wonderful to have their wisdom, peaceful spirits and joyful company those first few days. Here are a few pictures from their first visit with Jackson as we didn't get any new pictures with them this last trip.

However, on this trip, Jackson got to meet Poppy and Nanny for the first time!  Jackson is the only boy (so far) that can carry on the Alford family name, which made this meeting oh so special!  Jackson looks so much like his Poppy, Papa and Daddy!

But a trip to Baton Rouge during football season wouldn't be the same without a trip to Tiger Stadium and to check out all the new LSU gear!!  Too bad there wasn't a game this weekend...
