Emersyn - 3 Months Old

Pandemic time is so odd.  Emmie has only been with us for 3 months and yet it feels like she's been a part of the family for so much longer.  She eats and sleeps like a champ!  She is starting to get quite good on her tummy and is very strong.  The smiles are flowing more freely and she is beginning to focus intently on the things around her, especially people.

Our Happy Place

We had a wonderful few days at Lake Keowee!  This is our happy place; the water, the views, the weather; and of course, the people!!  Emmie wasn't too sure about the boat ride...I'm not sure if it was the life jacket or the constant wind, but she eventually relaxed and began to enjoy it towards the end.  The boys, on the other hand, were obsessed with the boat.  And they were such champs!  They even took some much needed naps on the boat.

Feeding the fish bread between our toes!

"Way Maker, Miracle Worker..."

The storm ahead in this photo caught us in the middle of the lake and just drenched us for about 30 minutes solid.  It was cold, very wet and borderline miserable...but the kids did amazing!  No one complained or cried.  They just hunkered down and waited for the sun on the other side.

Our rental house had its own little beach and a few kayaks.  Jackson got really brave and quite independent in the water.  Gammie and Papa got the boys their very own fishing rods and gear.  Nobody caught anything, but they had fun trying for their first time fishing!  Only one line had a weight, so we had to borrow a little play figurine for the other...he's now somewhere swimming with the fish!

July 4th and Jackson's 4th

It has almost been a year to date since these pictures were taken, but this was such a fun 4th of July for our family!  Not only did the boys get to enjoy the festivities of our nation's birthday and Jackson's birthday, but we got to do it all with Gammie, Papa and Mawmaw this year.   The sparklers and bottle rockets were fun and exciting, but I think the boys liked doing the poppers the best!  They had more control and fewer restrictions with the poppers, which made them a hit.

We celebrated Jackson's 4th birthday on July 4th this year as we were leaving for the lake the next day.  I think he was super excited to have a cookout and fireworks for his big day along with Grandma's mud pie cake and a few presents to top it all off.
