Surviving the Holiday Season

The boys loved the Christmas season for all the fun and excitement it has to offer, but they grew and changed overnight, leaving these parentals with extremely busy hands.  Jackson is convinced that anything he can reach (by whatever means he deems necessary) is fair game for him to play with. Here he got a hold of my purse and found my lipstick, which was in two different enclosed pockets.  He tried to apply some to his lips and then was determined to get the lipstick to go back into the tube.  Without realizing he had to twist the tube, he proceeded to cover himself, the chair and my wallet with waxy red lipstick.

The outdoors are my best friend these day to get a little bit of that mischievous energy out. Sadly, this winter has been uncommonly wet and the days we can get outside have been far and few between.  Here is one of the lucky days we were able to go to the park.

Warm fires are meant for snuggling

"Waving" is my new favorite

Judah loves him some Mac'n'Cheese

The most challenging part of our Christmas Season was trying to enjoy the festivities despite illness and trying to get healthy despite cold weather and lack of sleep.  Jackson and Judah both had some sort of yucky cold virus for about a week.  After a week of being sick, Jackson's cough was not getting any better, but was in fact, getting worse.  He was diagnosed with pneumonia a week before Christmas.  Luckily we had caught it early and he was getting enough oxygen, which meant we didn't have to be admitted as long as his body responded quickly to the antibiotics.  Thankfully, he is perfectly healthy today and we didn't have to make any visits to Daddy's hospital.  Here is a picture of him doing a breathing treatment at the dr's office.  He was a champ!

We are grateful for our health, a good night's sleep, and for friends and family who come alongside us as we do life together!
