Judah Matthew Alford joined our family a week early on February 3. We went into the hospital Friday night and we met our little man at 6:15 the next morning. He was 19.25 inches long and 6 pounds 14 ounces in weight. The delivery process went well, but a few concerns soon became apparent for Judah and he was taken from us for the first several hours after delivery. He had gotten some fluid in his lungs from the delivery process, which had him struggling to breath somewhat, which meant he didn't give good cries at first, preventing a valve in his heart from closing properly. And to top things off, he had low blood sugar. But God is good and by midday the issues had resolved themselves and we have gotten good reports on his development ever since!
We were uncertain of how Jackson would do meeting his baby brother for the first time. He seemed indifferent towards his brother the majority of those first few days, but there were a few curious and sweet moments between the two. We feel so blessed to have the two sweetest boys in the world!
